Our Collective

cole rainey

they/them

cole is a seedkeeper, agroecologist, artist, organizer, and educator. As a 6th generation Californian and a descendent of early settlers, Cole is committed to a lifelong practice of rematriation and reparations. They believe in the radical power of Earth stewardship to heal communities, reclaim ancestral traditions, and lead us towards collective liberation.

Cole’s study of seed, soil, and liberative practice have taken many forms: conducting soil ecology surveys, conspiring with monarch butterflies to re-imagine the commons, creating land-based educational programs, conducting performance art pieces with seedlings, and supporting mutual aid efforts across the Bay Area.

wangũi hymes

she/they

Wangui was born and raised on the unceded lands of the Tamien Nation (aka Sunnyvale, CA). After graduating from Spelman College with a degree in Chemistry, they moved back to the Bay to pursue a career in health-tech. Quickly realizing her heart lay elsewhere, she's been course correcting ever since. From an herbalism apprenticeship; to a fellowship at a Tibetan Buddhist center; teaching elementary school kids about the magic of food; and supporting the creating of POC-centered cooperative housing projects.

Now, when not brewing tasty medicinal concoctions with her fellow Moonrise’rs, she can be found hanging out with the coolest goats you’ll ever meet or creating magical movement mixes for her friends & beyond.

Jianna Robinson

they/them

GGs Botanicals (Garden Goddess Botanicals) is designed around nourishing our relationship to wellness using botanicals. Botanicals are parts of plants; leaves, roots, seeds, flowers and energies. So far I have a botanical body butter, herbal tea blends, ACV Infusions and essential oil roll-ons all designed for specific wellness goals, whether it be relaxation, sinus support, or even being more present, receptive and open. I have designed products around what has and continues to support me. As someone who is spiritual, I also implement these products into my rituals such as meditation, taking a bath or even bringing tea with me on a hike.
